Tony
welcomes "great honour"
Padeswoods general manager, Tony Allan,
will use one of the top industrial posts in north Wales to support
traditional industries and fight for the economy of north Wales.
As the next chairman of the Confederation of British Industry in
the region, he will also stress industrys contribution to
the environment.
He was elected to the post of vice-chairman by his fellow industrialists
and will take the chair next year.
Tony Allan says:
"Its a great honour for me to be elected to this post.
I also see it as an honour for Castle Cement, and a recognition
of the contribution the Padeswood works have made to the region
over more than 50 years.
"Traditional, manufacturing companies like Castle sustain high
quality, long-term jobs. They are not fly by night jobs and they
create a strong base for the rest of the economy.
"I will also want to stress the positive contribution that
industry can make to improving the regions environment. We
at Castle take this extremely seriously."
